METHODS FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ANTHELMINTICS IN MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS
Anthelmintics are drugs used for infestations caused by flat (trematodes and cestodes) and round (nematodes) helminths, which are a serious and widespread problem in animal husbandry. These drugs are traditionally used in animal husbandry, since parasitic diseases can significantly reduce the productivity of animals, worsening not only their health, but also economic indicators. A wide range of anthelmintics covers various groups of compounds, each of which is aimed at specific types of pathogens. Residues of anthelmintics in meat also have a negative impact on human health. Some of these drugs can cause allergic reactions, disrupt liver function, lead to reproductive problems, and be carcinogenic. This article discusses methods for screening analysis of anthelmintic residues in meat and meat products: immunochemical analysis based on biochip technologies, enzyme immunoassay and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
