A Comprehensive Study and Future Prospects on Multi-access Techniques for Efficient Resource Allocation in MEC
Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) is an innovative network designed to bring calculation and data processing closer to the point of use, reducing latency and improving overall performance for mobile devices and applications. This survey explores the complex details of resource allocation optimization in multi-access edge computing environments. The paper precisely examines a wide array of task-offloading mechanisms and resource allocation strategies to enhance the performance and efficiency of Internet of Things devices. It sheds light on the challenges of terminal devices' limited computing power and energy constraints while exploring advanced Artificial Intelligence-based approaches and traditional methods to enhance task execution efficiency. The review ambitiously aims to gain a complete understanding of current research trends and prospects in MEC resource management.
