A Secure SDN Framework for Programmable Transmission in the Shipbuilding Industry Using Quantum Cryptography

The shipbuilding industry is embracing digital transformation, demanding secure, efficient, and scalable communication networks to support its complex operations. Traditional networking frameworks often lack the adaptability and security required for this sector. This research proposes a Secure Software Defined Networking (SDN) framework tailored to shipbuilding, enabling end-to-end programmable transmission. By decoupling control and data planes, the framework offers centralized management, real-time adaptability, and seamless integration of IoT devices and automated systems. To address security challenges, Quantum Cryptography is integrated, utilizing Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) for unbreakable encryption and enhanced data confidentiality. The framework ensures secure transmission for critical operations like design collaboration, supply chain management, and autonomous vessel communication. Performance metrics include high transmission time (100ms), data throughput (190Mbps), security level (90%), latency (25ms), and packet loss rate (4%). Use cases such as real-time monitoring, collaborative design, and secure supply chain communication demonstrate the framework's practical applicability and effectiveness.
