Hardware Implementation and Performance Evaluation of an Improved Snowball Tender Coconut Machine
A snowball tender coconut machine (SBTCM) is a device that grooves the coconut shell and scoops out the tender kernel while maintaining the sterility of the coconut water. The existing SBTCM is hindered by its bulkiness and reliance on AC power, limiting its outdoor use. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel, photovoltaic (PV)-powered SBTCM with a permanent magnetic DC motor. Additionally, a Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) is integrated to mitigate solar power intermittency and improve the overall performance. The proposed design is validated through simulation using Matlab SIMULINK and an experimental model. The simulation and experimental results shows the improved performance of the system and hence offering a reliable and sustainable solution for outdoor applications.
