CURRENT TRENDS IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE STANDARDIZATION

The article analyzes modern approaches to the standardization of artificial intelligence, considers key international and national initiatives, their impact on technological development and regulatory policy. Prospects for harmonizing standards to ensure safe, ethical and transparent use of AI in various areas are identified. It is noted that artificial intelligence is one of the most important technologies of our time, which is actively transforming the economy, science, public administration and the security sector, but its uncontrolled use can cause serious risks, including data privacy violations, algorithm bias, and cybersecurity threats. In this regard, active work is underway at the international level to develop regulatory norms aimed at establishing clear rules for the use of AI. The ISO/IEC standards and the AI Act are analyzed - the world’s first comprehensive law on regulating AI, which will enter into force in 2025, covering risk management, algorithm error correction and ensuring system security. Despite the efforts of the international community, there is no single global standard for regulating AI, as countries form their own approaches in accordance with national interests. For example, the EU focuses on security and protection of citizens’ rights, the US focuses on stimulating innovation and technological development, China introduces centralized control and regulation, the UK and other countries combine different models depending on their strategic objectives. Ukraine is dynamically developing digital technologies, in particular thanks to the “Diya” initiative, which promotes the modernization of public services and the integration of AI into management processes. In the field of artificial intelligence, the Concept of AI Development, the Strategy for 2021–2030, and the White Paper on AI Regulation were adopted. Despite this, the lack of legally enshrined standards remains a challenge that slows down the effective regulation and implementation of AI in various areas, such as the legal system, medicine, the financial sector, and public administration.
