THE CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF SCINTIGRAPHIC ASSESSMENT OF THE SEVERITY OF BONE MARROW DAMAGE IN PATIENTS WITH GAUCHER'S DISEASE
Goal. To evaluate the clinical significance of scintigraphy with 99mTc-sestamibi in determining the degree of bone marrow damage in patients with type 1 Gaucher disease. Materials and methods. The study included 20 patients examined at the Gem Clinic Hematology Center (Makhachkala) in 2023-2024. The diagnosis was confirmed by enzyme and molecular genetic analysis. All patients underwent scintigraphy with 99mTc sisters, followed by a semi-quantitative assessment of the degree of damage. Statistical analysis is performed in IBM SPSS Statistics v.26. Results. 18 out of 20 patients (90%) showed signs of bone marrow infiltration. Statistically significant correlations were found with the clinical severity of the disease (Zimran scale, hepatomegaly), hemoglobin levels, and serum chitotriosidase activity. Conclusions. Scintigraphy with 99mTc-sestamibi is a sensitive method for assessing bone marrow lesions in Gaucher disease, which has clinical significance and is suitable for monitoring therapy.
