Analisis Kasus Maternal Nearmissed di ICU Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Luwuk Periode Tahun 2019 – 2023

The decline in the global maternal mortality ratio shows significant progress, with maternal mortality rates dropping by 38% from 342 per 100,000 live births in 2000 to 211 in 2017. However, the prevalence of Maternal Nearmissed is still higher in developing countries, with similar causes to maternal deaths. This study aims to analyze cases of Maternal Nearmissed in the ICU of Luwuk Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in the period January 2019 to December 2023. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive observational method with the collection of medical records of obstetric patients from 2019 to 2023. The data analyzed include age, parity, length of stay, diagnosis, clinical interventions, and comorbidities in patients who experienced Maternal Nearmissed. The results showed that during the five-year period, 78 cases of Maternal Nearmissed were found in the ICU of Luwuk Regional General Hospital. The most common cause of these cases was Severe Preeclampsia, which was recorded in 33 cases (40.35%), followed by Postpartum Hemorrhage in 26 cases (31.3%). Based on the presence or absence of comorbidities, it was found that 12 cases (14.5%) of patients had comorbidities, while 66 cases (85.5%) were not accompanied by comorbidities. Maternal Nearmissed cases mostly occurred in those aged ≤ 30 years with a history of multigravida parity. In conclusion, this study found 78 cases of Maternal Nearmissed in the ICU of Luwuk Regional Hospital over five years, with the most common causes being Severe Preeclampsia and Postpartum Hemorrhage. These cases were mostly unrelated to the presence of comorbidities. These findings are expected to help improve the understanding and management of Maternal Nearmissed cases in hospitals, as well as provide an overview of the factors that influence these incidents.
