Role of Early Feeding by Technically Modified Diets on Physiological Traits and Gene Related to It in Newly Hatched Quails

The aim was to investigate the effect of glycerin and whole egg powder supplements in the diet on physiological traits and gene related to it in newly hatched quails. The current study included one experimental period. 150 chicks were used in the experiment randomly distributed into 5 treatments: T1: Fasting(24h), T2: Control, T3: Glycerin (2.5%), T4: Whole egg powder (2.5%), and T5: Glycerin (2.5%) with whole egg powder (2.5%). The results of this study showed the highest significant difference (P ≤ 0.05) was found in the treatment of birds treated with a 2.5% glycerin supplement to the diets in the concentration of total protein, albumin, and globulin, Amylase showed the highest significant difference in the expression of the Mucin2 gene. Finally, this study concluded that the use of glycerin as a nutritional supplement effectively contributes to improving growth performance of Japanese quail used as an alternative source of poultry meat.
