S.I. Rudenko’s personal fund in the st. Petersburg branch of the archive of the russian academy of sciences: bashkir themes /

The article analyzes the materials of the personal fund of Sergei Ivanovich Rudenko (1885–1969) stored in the St. Petersburg branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPbF ARAN). The first inventory of the fund 1004 contains 669 items of storage covering the period 1880–1972. Archival documents include scientific papers, biographical materials, expedition reports, correspondence, illustrations for works and organizational documents. Over 40 cases (more than 800 pages) are devoted to Bashkortostan, Bashkirs and the study of nomadic civilization. The materials related to the preparation of the monograph “Bashkirs. Historical and ethnographic essays” (Moscow; Leningrad, 1955): notes, lists of illustrations, photographs (including 7 glass negatives), drawings and clippings from books (1900–1950’s) (SPbF ARAN. F. 1004. Op. 1. 10, 59, 536) are of particular interest. The records of the expedition to Bashkiria in 1952 which took place on the eve of the republication of the book “Bashkirs. Historical and ethnographic essays”: a notebook with data on the farms of the BASSR collective farms, ethnographic notes, calendars with contacts (d. 174, 175, 203) were saved. In a separate case, reviews of the published monograph are collected from the staff of the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Bashkir Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (K. Akhmerov, T.G. Baishev, S.M. Vasiliev, R.G. Kuzeev, R.U. Kuzyev, A.N. Usmanov, G.V. Yusupov), as well as other scientists (S.A. Tokarev, S.S. Chernikov) (583). The documents on the publication of the monograph include an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the Presidium of the Bashkir branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, a memorandum by G.V. Yusupov to the Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the BFAN of the USSR and numerous correspondence (originals, copies, drafts) (d. 599). S.I. Rudenko’s correspondence with Ufa colleagues (linguist T.G. Baishev, archaeologists P.F. Ishcherikov and G.V. Yusupov, ethnographer N.V. Bikbulatov) (408, 606, 609, 616) is important. It is worth mentioning the Certificate of Honour of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the BASSR awarded to S.I. Rudenko for his great achievements in the field of Bashkir archaeology and ethnography and in connection with the 80th anniversary of his birth (d. 209). Letters of the Bashkir writer Tayfur Sagitov (1967–1969) with attached articles have been preserved (d. 134, 251, 252, 377). The materials of S.I. Rudenko, devoted to the study of the problems of nomadic civilization, including articles “On the study of the history and way of life of the peoples of the USSR”, “Dairy farming of nomadic pastoralists”, “Ethnos and ethnogenesis (regarding the discussion in the Department of Ethnography of the All-Russian Geographical Society)”, “On nomads”, reports [Results of the discussion on the problem of ethnogenesis], “Forms cattle breeding in connection with the question of the nomadic way of life” (D. 102, 103, 118, 119, 138, 555) are also significant. The fund presents unique photographs: expedition to the Southern Urals, ethnographic subjects, Laklinskaya cave, fishing dam in Bashkiria (Ilminsky’s negative) (D. 465, 466, 483, 518, 629, 636) and other documents. В статье анализируются материалы личного фонда Сергея Ивановича Руденко (1885– 1969), хранящиеся в Санкт-Петербургском филиале Архива РАН (далее – СПбФ АРАН). В описи 1 фонда 1004 зарегистрировано 669 единиц хранения, охватывающих период 1880–1972 гг. Архивные документы включают научные труды, материалы к биографии, экспедиционные отчеты, переписку, иллюстрации к публикациям и научно-организационные документы. Свыше 40 дел (более 800 листов) посвящены Башкирии, башкирам и изучению кочевых цивилизаций. Особый интерес представляют материалы, связанные с подготовкой монографии «Башкиры. Историко-этнографические очерки» (М.; Л., 1955), в числе которых – заметки, списки иллюстраций, фотографии (включая 7 стеклянных негативов), рисунки и вырезки из книг (1900–1950-е гг.) [СПбФ АРАН. Ф. 1004. Оп. 1. Д. 10, 59, 536]. Сохранились записи экспедиции по Башкирии 1952 г., которая состоялась в преддверии переиздания книги «Башкиры. Историко-этнографические очерки»: записная книжка с данными о хозяйстве колхозов БАССР, этнографические заметки, календари с контактами [Д. 174, 175, 203]. В отдельном деле собраны отзывы сотрудников Института истории, языка и литературы Башкирского филиала АН СССР (К. Ахмеров, Т.Г. Баишев, С.М. Васильев, Р.Г. Кузеев, Р.У. Кузыев, А.Н. Усманов, Г.В. Юсупов), а также других ученых (С.А. Токарев, С.С. Черников) на издаваемую монографию [Д. 583]. Документы по изданию монографии включают выписку из протокола заседания Президиума Башкирского филиала АН СССР, докладную записку Г.В. Юсупова директору ИИЯЛ БФАН СССР, переписку (подлинники, копии, черновики) [Д. 599]. Важна переписка С.И. Руденко с уфимскими коллегами – языковедом Т.Г. Баишевым, археологами П.Ф. Ищериковым и Г.В. Юсуповым, этнографом Н.В. Бикбулатовым [Д. 408, 606, 609, 616]. Отдельно стоит отметить Почетную грамоту Президиума Верховного Совета БАССР, врученную С.И. Руденко за большие заслуги в области исследования археологии и этнографии башкир и в связи с 80-летием со дня рождения [Д. 209]. Сохранились письма башкирского писателя Т.Б. Сагитова (1967–1969) с приложенными статьями [Д. 134, 251, 252, 377]. Значимы и материалы С.И. Руденко, посвященные исследованию проблем кочевых цивилизаций. Среди них – статьи «К вопросу изучения истории и быта народов СССР», «Молочное хозяйство кочевников скотоводов», «Этнос и этногенез (по поводу дискуссии в Отделении этнографии ВГО)», «О кочевниках», доклады [Итоги дискуссии по проблеме этногенеза], «Формы скотоводческого хозяйства в связи с вопросом о кочевом образе жизни» [Д. 102, 103, 118, 119, 138, 555]. В фонде представлены уникальные фотографии: экспедиции на Южном Урале, этнографические сюжеты, Лаклинская пещера, рыболовная запруда в Башкирии (негатив Ильминского) и др. [Д. 465, 466, 483, 518, 629, 636].
