Synthesis and coordination behaviour of a protic phosphinoferrocene amidine

Protic phosphinoferrocene amidine preferentially coordinates group 10 metals as a hybrid, P,N-chelate ligand. Elimination of the supporting halide ligands leads to chloride-bridged dimers and, ultimately, to κ 3 Fe,P,N complexes.
