Alteraciones del perfil renal y hepático en pacientes atendidos en el Laboratorio Clínico Divino Niño de Jipijapa
The renal profile evaluates kidney function using parameters such as urea, creatinine, and uric acid, while the hepatic profile analyzes enzymes such as ALT, AST, GGT, and alkaline phosphatase, which are key to detecting liver disease. These tests allow for the identification of early alterations that could lead to complications if not treated in time. This study, conducted at the Divino Niño Clinical Laboratory in Jipijapa, aimed to analyze the frequency of alterations in both profiles. A descriptive, analytical, cross-sectional, and quantitative methodology was applied, with a retrospective approach of minimal risk. The study population consisted of all adult patients of both genders treated at the Divino Niño Clinical Laboratory in 2023, where a sample of 118 patients was obtained by applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The population was found to be predominantly adult and female, especially in the 62-70 age group. The results showed that most patients had parameters within the normal ranges. However, alterations were identified in a significant proportion of cases, being more frequent in men for the renal profile and associated with age in the hepatic profile. In conclusion, aging seems to have a greater impact on liver function, and although most values were normal, it is essential to maintain clinical surveillance to detect alterations in a timely manner and prevent complications.
