The effect of the biodestructor Sanaero on the microflora of pig manure when filling an underfloor bath
In recent years, the processing of livestock feces has become a serious issue not only in Ukraine but also globally. Aerobic transformation of the organic matter in pig manure by means of microorganisms can not only address the problem of waste pollution but also convert this waste into fertilizer and enable rational use of the nutrients found in feces, such as organic matter, nitrogen, and phosphorus. Microorganisms continuously catabolize organic compounds, producing a variety of metabolites, with some intermediate and final products emitting volatile odors. The aim of this study was to identify the dominant microorganisms in pig manure during the filling of an underfloor slurry pit using a newly developed biological agent – the destructor “Sanaero”. The biological manure destructor “Sanaero” is a microbial formulation composed of selected symbiotic and saprophytic microorganisms capable of decomposing organic substances while significantly reducing the production of harmful and unpleasant gases. The composition includes microorganisms from the genera Bacillus, Lactobacillus, Pseudomonas, Azotobacter, Cellulomonas, and Saccharomyces. The application of the “Sanaero” biodecomposer during the filling of the slurry pit with pig manure promotes active proliferation of probiotic microorganisms, particularly Bacillus spp., Lactobacillus spp., and Pseudomonas spp., whose populations begin to increase significantly within 2–5 days and reach exponential levels (10⁶–10⁷ CFU/g) by days 9–17. Simultaneously, a decrease in the number of harmful Clostridium spp. by 1 to 1.5 log units was observed compared to the control. This helps improve sanitary conditions within livestock facilities, reducing odors and harmful emissions. Thus, treatment of pig manure in an underfloor pit with the “Sanaero” biodecomposer influences the overall bacterial colonization, intensifying microbiological processes and effectively optimizing the microbial composition of pig manure by ensuring biological enrichment of the substrate and suppression of undesirable microflora.
