Analysis of Architectures for Green Mobile App on Urban Reforestation
Architectures have provided formal guidance on the software development process since the 80s began. From that point, they face constant change, requiring adaptation to every technological milestone occurring through the decades. The development of green mobile applications is not the exception. This article features a case study of a Green Mobile Application for Urban Reforestation (GMAUR) that is intended to be attractive to children and young people. The conducted research analyzes whether or not the guidance offered by existing architectures should be taken as it is to guide the development of such peculiar application. The focus is on overall software and User Interface (UI) architectures. As a result, both architectures required changes in order to meet the specific requirements of the studied green mobile application; this led to the main contributions of the paper, which are: 1) an overall architecture for the GMAUR; and 2) a UI design that combines colors, component distribution, and appearances to attract young people and influence them to take initiative on nature care.
