Intelligent Parking and Vehicle Access Management System in a University Center, Using AI
Smart cities reveal the potential of innovative technologies such as the internet of Things to address serious and recurring problems in urban areas. Nowadays, smart cities are becoming more innovative, competitive, attractive and resilient, providing conditions that improve the quality of life of their citizens. In this way, it is intended to bring this paradigm to university campuses, to improve the conditions of university life, implementing technologies that lead to a gradual transition to a smart university campus. This document describes the implementation of an intelligent parking and vehicle access management system at the University Center of Los Valles, using computer vision and deep learning for license plate identification, as well as databases for space registration and allocation. The web interface for vehicle registration, a license plate recognition system, a video system for indicating vehicle space, and a fine system for incorrect parking are also described.
