COMPARATIVE EFFICACY OF CONSERVATIVE AND SURGICAL TREATMENT OF CORNEAL ULCERS IN SMALL DOMESTIC ANIMALS

This article presents the results of conservative and surgical treatment of corneal ulcers in the conditions of the veterinary clinic "Doctor Kutlimatov". Comparison in groups was carried out based on the same etiology of the lesion. Thus, the effectiveness of drug treatment of refractory ulcers in dogs was compared with the results of keratectomy. A comparison was made of the speed and quality of restoration of the corneal epithelium, as well as concomitant complications in both treatment options. Based on the obtained results, conclusions were drawn about the high efficiency of conservative and surgical treatment of superficial corneal ulcers with herpesvirus and traumatic etiology and surgical treatment of chronic superficial corneal ulcers in dogs.
