Spectroscopic characterization of phosphine ligation on manganese and chromium porphyrin nitrosyls
In the present study, reactions of P-donor ligand trimethylphosphine with sublimated films of manganese and chromium porphyrin nitrosyls were studied by vibrational and electronic absorption spectroscopies. Spectrophotometric monitoring in the range from 100 K to room temperature provides clear evidence for the formation of the novel species Cr(TPP)(NO)(PMe[Formula: see text] and Mn(TPP)(NO)(PMe[Formula: see text] with distinct visible and IR spectra supporting phosphine binding to the metal porphyrin nitrosyl in the axial position. DFT calculations were also performed to support experimental results.
