The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Personalised Medicine and Preventative Healthcare: Drug Design, Synthesis and Prescription

Every year humanity continues to make magnificent strides in the fields of biotechnology and medicine, one of the most promising future advancements in the process of development is the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in synthetic drug design and determining the sequences of the stages of the pharmacological synthesis of these new drugs and medicines and their prescription. Designed at the computer level through human conceptual design and modelling input and then sequenced by Artificial Intelligence processing for automated robotic laboratory synthesis and medical dispensation, (Smith & Doe, 2020). The main topics that shall be discussed about the promising potential future and roles of AI in the sequencing of the necessary stages of the chemical reactions from base elemental and molecular compounds in order to create synthetic novel drugs, compounds and medicines, designed through computer assistance at the molecular level, and producing these experimental compounds in automated robotic laboratories and using AI for assistance in drug prescribing and treatment shall be considered under an analytical lens, (Brown et al., 2021). Also explored is how AI can assist in mapping the chemical reaction and synthesis procedures to produce these new designer medicines, alongside multiple applications for medical professionals and prescribers for the role of AI in simulating new medicine effects. Modelling multiple prescribing factors including a patient’s DNA profile, possible side-effects, medicine contraindications, family history, allergic sensitivities and drug resilliances to facilitate the development of improvements in personalised medicine and preventative healthcare, (Johnson & Lee, 2019).
