MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF HUMAN TISSUE DEFORMATION DURING NEEDLING USING LIFTING-THRUSTING MANIPULATION

To develop a model of deformation during needling on human tissue. We want to see the relation between mechanical forces and the deformation in human tissues during the manual lifting-thrusting manipulation technique. We set the relation between mechanical forces and the deformation in human tissues during needling. Soft biological tissues experience finite strain when subjected to normal forces. The finite deformation theory of elasticity predicts the magnitude of forces on the surface of tissues and their deformation by considering tissues to be hyperelastic material. The stresses calculated with the help of the model are compared with the previous data in the literature. Using a mathematical model, we determined the tissue compression produced during needling and concluded that large forces are not required to produce satisfactory results.
