Mapping the Research Landscape on Fintech and Policy Interventions: A Bibliometric Analysis Using VOS viewer and R
Fintech has emerged as a transformative force across industries, yet its intersection with policy interventions remains relatively underexamined. This study addresses this gap by conducting detailed bibliometric analysis to map current research trends, thematic developments, collaborative networks, and key challenges within the Fintech landscape. Using data sourced from the Scopus database, we applied the Bibliometrix package in R and VOSviewer to visualize and analyze publication patterns. The findings reveal a notable surge in academic interest, with publications rising from 516 in 2023 to 576 by early December 2024. The analysis also highlights the top ten journals contributing to this growing body of work and emphasizes the critical role Fintech plays in advancing financial inclusion, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and marginalized populations. Overall, the study illustrates the strategic value of Fintech in informing inclusive policy design and underscores the need for continued interdisciplinary research to navigate the evolving challenges in this dynamic field.
