Studi Anatomi Tanaman Tembelekan (Lantana camara L.)
The Verbenaceae family is a family known as the Jati-jatian group. The anatomical study of the tembelekan plant (Lantana camara L.) is still minimal. Hence, the purpose of this research is to understand the anatomical structure of the Lantana camara L. (tembelekan plant). The methods used in specimen preparation employed four techniques: the free-hand section method for cross-sections of roots and paradermal leaves, the paraffin method for cross-sections of stems, the maceration method to obtain stem fibers and tracheae, and the acetolysis method to examine the morphological structure of pollen. The parameters observed include roots, stems, leaves, and parts of the flower, namely pollen. The research results indicate that the structure of the root tissue from the outside to the inside consists of the epidermis, cortex, pericycle, xylem, and phloem. The stem tissue also consists of the epidermis, cortex, xylem, and phloem. In the stem, there are fibers and tracheids. The tracheids of the tembelekan have three variations based on the type of tracheids and the type of secondary wall thickening, namely the reticulate type with secondary wall thickening of mesh I, mesh II, and mesh III, the spiral type, and the perforation type, which is scalariform. The anatomical structure of the leaf consists of the epidermis, stomata, and trichomes. The epidermis has an irregular shape with undulating walls. The adaxial epidermis has a thick cuticle. Stomata with anisocytic type and hypostomatic distribution type. Trichomes are of two types: capitate glandular trichomes, which have round tips, and uniseriate non-glandular trichomes, which have pointed tips, found on both the adaxial leaf and the stem. Pollen is with monadic unit type, psilate ornamentation type, tricolpate aperture type, and suboblate pollen shape. The data from this research is expected to serve as a foundational reference in the study of plant anatomy.
