Study of the microscopic morphology of the nasal mucosa and trachea in sheep

This study aims to present and describe the histological structures of the nasal mucosa and trachea in sheep. Using advanced microscopic imaging techniques, this study realized a thorough evaluation of histological samples, analyzing the complex structural layout of the nasal mucosa and trachea in sheep. The specimens used for the study were collected post-mortem from the nasal cavities and the trachea. This study employed a dual staining method with Hematoxylin and Eosin for general tissue morphology and Mallory’s trichrome stain for connective tissue differentiation. By examining the nasal cavities and the trachea, it can be concluded that these respiratory system components offer numerous physiological functions such as air filtration, humidification, warming of the inhaled air, and sense of smell. With the results, this study aims to improve the existing knowledge of the morphology of the nasal cavities and trachea in ovine.
