Development of heat treatment methods of KKh28M6 alloy products to increase their mechanical properties

The regularities of structural and phase transformations in the KKh28M6 alloy in a wide range of temperatures and different heating and cooling rates are revealed. A new method of heat treatment of products made of this alloy is proposed, providing an increase of mechanical properties, which can be recommended for gas turbine engine parts operating at temperatures up to 800 °C. It is proven that a change in the nitrogen and carbon content within the current regulatory documentation is accompanied by a change in the phase composition of the alloy, the amount of carbide inclusions and nitrides, which leads to a significant change in the physical and mechanical properties. Recommendations are presented for optimizing of the chemical composition of the KKh28M6 alloy to improve the efficiency of heat treatment.
