Research on the Impact of Productive Service Industry Agglomeration on New Quality Productivity——Based on Causal Inference of Double Machine Learning

Producer service, with its high technology, has become an important industrial base for accelerating the “top task” of cultivating new quality productive forces. Based on the panel data of 284 prefecture-level cities in China from 2009 to 2019, this paper examines the impact of producer service aggregation on new quality productivity through the dual machine learning model. The results show that specialization agglomeration can significantly promote the level of new quality productivity, but diversified agglomeration will significantly inhibit the development of new quality productivity. The heterogeneity test shows that the specialization agglomeration of scientific research and technical service industry has the most obvious effect on the improvement of new quality productivity. The diversified agglomeration of financial industry has the most obvious inhibitory effect on the new quality productivity; Compared with endogenous agglomeration, exogenous agglomeration has a more significant effect on promoting or inhibiting new quality productivity. The mechanism test finds that producer service aggregation drives the coordinated development of urban digitalization and green by promoting the integration of regional data and real, and optimizes the regional business environment to promote the level of new quality productivity. This study is of great significance to adjust producer service aggregation direction, accelerate the cultivation and development of new quality productivity, and foster new economic growth momentum.
