Research on Evaluation Models for Competitiveness of High-tech Industries in Cities Based on Entropy Weighting Method and Topsis Method

Aiming at the problem of evaluating the competitiveness of high-tech industries in different cities, this study establishes a comprehensive evaluation model. First, the evaluation index system is constructed, including indicators of four aspects: regional economic vitality, innovation input, innovation output and enterprise operation efficiency. The entropy weighting method can be used to determine the weights of the indicators, and the Topsis method is used to evaluate the competitiveness of urban high-tech industries. The model was then applied to assess the competitiveness of high-tech industries in nine cities in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong Province. Though Data mining algorithms, the simulation results can be obtained, and they show that the competitiveness of high-tech industries in Guangdong Province has a hierarchical structure. Shenzhen and Guangzhou are in the first tier, showing the strongest competitiveness and excelling in all aspects of innovation. Cities such as Foshan and Dongguan are in the second tier, excelling in certain indicators. Other cities are in the third tier, with relatively low composite scores and weak competitiveness, as they show significant deficiencies in certain indicators. This study can provide scientific support for development decisions in Guangdong Province.
