Capital Catalytic Effect in the Wearable Medical Devices Market: The Co-evolution of Innovation-driven Dynamics and Return on Investment
This study evaluates the economic and clinical implications of AcuPebbleOK100, a wearable diagnostic device for the management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in the public healthcare system. A cost-effectiveness analysis from the NHS and social security perspectives shows that the AcuPeble system delivers significant savings while significantly reducing the cost per test. These savings can be used to expand diagnostic capabilities, which can directly improve the identification and treatment rates of OSA-positive patients. Sensitivity analysis consistently shows a strong ROI across different throughput and cost scenarios, further demonstrating the role of wearable diagnostic devices in improving efficiency, patient outcomes, and resourcing medical resources.
