Phosphate conversion process on Al–Si-coated steel: characterization and impact on the heat-treatment performance

Phosphating Al–Si-coated steel significantly increases the heating efficiency in hot-stamping processes. During heat treatment, the phosphate layer reacts with the coating, forming ZnAl 2 O 4 and AlPO 4 .
