Observation on the Therapeutic Effect of Warming and Unblocking Method in Treating Occipital Neuralgia Caused by Wind-Cold Invasion
(P The purpose of this study was to observe the clinical efficacy of the warming and unblocking method in the treatment of occipital neuralgia caused by wind-cold invasion. Fifty-six patients with occipital neuralgia due to wind-cold invasion were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group, with 28 patients in each group. The treatment group received the warming and unblocking method, while the control group received simple acupuncture treatment for two courses. After each treatment, the Pain Rating Index (PRI), Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), and Present Pain Intensity (PPI) of the two groups were compared to evaluate the therapeutic effect. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in PRI, VAS, and PPI scores between the two groups after treatment compared with before treatment (P < 0.05), and the treatment group was superior to the control group (P < 0.05). From the perspective of the total effective rate, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.4%, and that of the control group was 82.1%. These comparison results demonstrated the significant advantage of the treatment group in terms of therapeutic effect. Conclusion: The warming and unblocking method is an effective approach in the treatment of occipital neuralgia caused by wind-cold invasion, and it can more effectively alleviate the pain symptoms of patients.
