Dimethyl(methylthio)sulfonium salt triggered dithiocarbamation of alkenes with CS2 and amines
In this work, a straightforward and practical four-component reaction involving alkenes, CS2, amines, and dimethyl(methylthio)sulfonium trifluoromethanesulfonate (DMTSM) is reported. This reaction enables the convenient synthesis of various <i>S</i>-alkyl dithiocarbamates in good to excellent yields. The mild reaction conditions, readily available starting materials and operational simplicity, along with numerous examples of late-stage functionalization, render this method highly attractive for organic synthesis.
