Vigilancia electrónica personal mecanismo alternativo sustitutivo a la prisión preventiva. Una revisión sistemática

The objective of this study was to analyze electronic monitoring as an alternative to pretrial detention, identifying its challenges and opportunities. A systematic review of 21 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2024 was conducted using databases such as Scopus, Scielo, and Dialnet. The findings indicate that electronic monitoring can reduce prison overcrowding and support social reintegration, although concerns remain regarding user privacy and psychological well-being. The study highlights the need for clear regulations to ensure respect for human rights. It concludes that the effectiveness of electronic monitoring will depend on a robust legal framework and the government's commitment to protecting the dignity and freedom of monitored individuals.
