Abstract

The article discusses methodological approaches to the formation of general professional and professional competencies in students studying in the field of training 06.03.01 Biology. The discipline "Medicinal and Food Plants", as an elective discipline, is an element of the formation of individual learning trajectories and a related area of pharmacognosy in natural science education. The elective part provides an opportunity to expand the knowledge, skills and abilities determined by the content of basic disciplines, allows students to gain in-depth knowledge and skills for successful professional activity and (or) to continue professional education in the master's degree program. The main goal of the academic discipline "Medicinal and Food Plants" is to familiarize students with the types of plants that can be used to produce medicines and food products. Much attention is paid to the study of their chemical composition, distribution in nature, areas of culture, and features of raw material procurement taking into account the protection of resources and their rational use, useful properties and practical significance, which is becoming especially relevant in the context of global environmental changes.
