ANÁLISE TEMPORAL DO ESTADO NUTRICIONAL DE CRIANÇAS MENORES DE 5 ANOS NO PERÍODO DE 2011 A 2021: ESTUDO ECOLÓGICO

Objective: To analyze the temporal trend of data on the nutritional status (NS) of children under 5 years old available in the Food and Nutrition Surveillance System (SISVAN) from 2011 to 2021. Methods: This is an ecological study of the temporal trend of the EN of children aged 0 to 5 years, in the municipalities of Maceió and Recife, between the years 2011 and 2021, with data from SISVAN. Trend analysis were performed using linear regression. Results: A decreasing trend of very low height for age, low height for age and thinness was observed in Recife, as well as marked thinness in all regions evaluated. There was also an increase in the risk of overweight in Recife, in contrast, a drop in obesity in Maceió and Recife. Final considerations: it is suggested that local management intensify the development of food and nutrition security and surveillance actions at the individual and collective levels.
