EFFICACY OF INDIVIDUALIZED FEEDBACK AND TECHNOLOGY-ENHANCED WRITING INSTRUCTION TO ENHANCE WRITING SKILLS

This study examined the efficacy of individualized feedback combined with technology-enhanced writing instruction in improving the writing performance of first-year Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) English students at Legacy College of Compostela. It aimed to enhance students’ writing skills, particularly in sentence construction, through targeted instructional strategies that integrated personalized teacher feedback and digital tools. Utilizing a quasi-experimental single-group pre-test and post-test design, the study gathered data to assess the impact of the intervention on students’ writing proficiency. The findings revealed a notable improvement in the students’ writing performance from the pre-test to the post-test. Based on the analysis, students progressed from a near mastery level to a mastery level in writing proficiency. The test of difference confirmed that this improvement was statistically significant, indicating the effectiveness of the intervention. These outcomes demonstrated the effectiveness of combining individualized feedback with technology in addressing specific writing challenges, including grammar accuracy, sentence structure, and coherence. The study recommended the continued use of blended strategies that combine individualized feedback and technology to support students’ ongoing development in academic writing.
