Introduction to CLAY/10/7490E database

This short communication introduces CLAY/10/7490E, an incomplete multivariate clay database containing 10 clay parameters: liquid limit, plasticity index, liquidity index, normalized vertical effective stress, normalized preconsolidation stress, normalized undrained shear strength, sensitivity, pore pressure ratio, normalized cone tip resistance, and normalized effective cone tip resistance. The characteristics of the database are presented using summary statistics and correlation plots. Some transformation models related to undrained shear strength and preconsolidation stress are investigated to calibrate the means and coefficients of variation (COVs) of their model factors. Applications of the database to data-driven site characterization are highlighted by referring to the source references.
