Response of mango varieties to different pruning times for flowering and yield and under high density planting

The present study entitled “Response of Mango varieties to different pruning times for flowering and yield and under high density planting” was carried at Tulsi farm, Kumbhari, PDKV, Akola district, Maharashtra during the year 2024-2025. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block design with twelve treatment combination and three replications. Among the varieties, The minimum number of days to flowering, maximum number of panicles/plant, Panicle length, Panicle width, Number of hermaphrodite flowers/panicle, minimum days to fruit set, maximum fruit set% at pea stage, Number of fruits/plant, Fruit yield, minimum number of days required for harvesting were recorded in Kesar (V1) followed by Ratna (V2) and Pairi (V3). The minimum number of days to flowering, maximum number of panicles/plant, Panicle length, Panicle width, Number of hermaphrodite flowers/panicle, minimum days to fruit set, maximum fruit set% at pea stage, Number of fruits/plant, Fruit yield, minimum number of days required for harvesting were recorded under the treatment (P4), i.e. pruning in the first fortnight of July followed by P3, P2 and P1. The treatment combination kesar pruning in second fortnight of July (V1P4) recorded significantly the minimum number of days to flowering, maximum number of panicles/plant, Panicle length, Panicle width, Number of hermaphrodite flowers/panicle, minimum days to fruit set, maximum fruit set% at pea stage, Number of fruits/plant, Fruit yield, minimum number of days required for harvesting followed by V2P4 and V3P4 were recorded with pruned treatments.
