Dual Diagnosis in Pulmonology: Hydatid Cyst Leading to Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Lung
It is uncommon for a malignant lung tumor to present clinically as a cystic lesion.Herein, we report a case of squamous cell carcinoma of the lung mimicking a pulmonary hydatid cyst both clinically and microbiologically. The patient was found to have specific antiechinococcus immunoglobulin E. The case highlights that lung carcinoma may rarely have clinical, radiological, and serological features similar to those of a pulmonary hydatid cyst.
