Konstytucyjna zasada społeczeństwa obywatelskiego a rozwój lokalny z udziałem Lokalnych Grup Działania

The Constitutional Principle of Civil Society and Local Development with the Participation of Local Action Groups The significance of the principle of civil society constitutes an element of a democratic state governed by the rule of law. The primary aim of this article is to determine the role of the principle of civil society in the process of implementing so-called local development by the local community. The study employs the dogmatic-legal method. It has been established that the local community is a key element in relation to local development, while existing Local Action Groups (LAGs) remain special associational organisations that stimulate local development within selected areas of activity. The study concludes that society can influence local development both within Local Action Groups and independently. The significance of society for the development of smaller communities reflects both the implementation of the principle of subsidiarity and the importance of political pluralism.
