TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRADE AND INVESTMENT COOPERATION BETWEEN VIETNAM AND RUSSIA WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE VN-EAEU FTA AGREEMENT
The work is devoted to the study of the results of ten-year trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EAEU (VN-EAEU FTA). As a result of the analysis of trade relations between the countries, it was concluded that the liberalization of mutual trade ensured an increase in volumes and a change in the commodity structure of mutual trade, but did not have a significant impact on the qualitative changes in the trade potential of both countries participating in the agreement. The result of the analysis of investment relations between the countries was the identified imbalance in the scale and structure of investments. It was found that the volume of Vietnamese investments in the Russian Federation exceeds Russian investment flows to Vietnam, but the number of investment projects of Russian businesses in Vietnam exceeds a similar indicator of the activities of Vietnamese companies in Russia. It was revealed that the reasons for the low investment activity between the countries are problems caused by the sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and the not entirely favorable investment climate in Vietnam.
