By including this index in the production function, the influence of the complexity of employment structures on gross regional product was assessed. Conclusions. The integral index based on the basic indices of the complexity of regional employment structures by type of economic activity and professional group helps statistically assess the impact of the complexity of employment structures on gross regional product. This offers opportunities for using the integral index of employment structure complexity to choose priority areas for the development of regional labor markets.
