Recent Advancement in the Synthesis of Nanomaterial: An Overview
The rapid advancement in nanotechnology has revolutionized various scientific disciplines, making nanomaterials a focal point for research due to their unique properties and broad applications. Nanomaterials are classified based on their origin into naturally occurring nanostructures, such as minerals, viruses, and biological molecules, and artificially engineered nanomaterials, including carbon nanotubes and semiconductor nanoparticles like quantum dots. This paper reviews the synthesis, properties, and applications of nanomaterials. The synthesis methods discussed address the challenges in producing high-quality nanomaterials with controlled properties, such as size, shape, and functionality, critical for their practical application. Their applications span across various fields, including medicine, environmental science, energy, and electronics, owing to their nanoscale dimensions and the resultant enhancement in surface area and reactivity. Recent advances in nanotechnology have led to the creation of nanocarriers, which improve the bioavailability, stability, and controlled release of active ingredients in topical formulations.
