Psychological Stress and Its Management in the Light of Prophetic Tradition: a Case Study of First-Year Students-University of Sharjah
Abstract This research examines the psychological stress experienced by first-year students at the University of Sharjah, identifying its causes and proposing effective coping strategies. The study addresses the challenges of transitioning from high school to university, which often results in heightened anxiety and adjustment difficulties. It emphasizes the role of prophetic guidance as an essential resource, providing coping mechanisms for stress management. Utilizing a descriptive research design, the study systematically identifies the stressors, while an analytical approach explores their underlying causes and recommends intervention strategies. A sample of 70 first-year students (both male and female) participated, with data collected via a questionnaire. The findings indicate that personal, academic, and social factors significantly contribute to psychological stress. The study affirms the efficacy of incorporating prophetic guidance to alleviate stress, offering a comprehensive approach to enhance students’ psychological well-being and facilitate their academic adaptation. The results offer valuable insights for educational institutions in supporting student adjustment.
