Peran YPPK Dr. J. B. Sitanala dalam Meningkatkan Kualitas Pendidik di SD Kristen Wangel: Sebuah Kajian Manajemen Pendidikan Agama
Educators play an important role in improving the quality of education. No matter how strong the education system is or how good the school facilities and infrastructure are, all will be in vain if we do not have great and qualified educators. According to Law No.14 of 2005 on Teachers and Foundations, qualified teachers are teachers who meet academic qualifications and four teacher competencies, pedagogic, personality, professional and social. The purpose of this research is to see the role of YPPK Dr. J. B. Sitanala in improving the quality of educators at Wangel Christian Elementary School based on academic qualifications and four competencies. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews, using structured interview guidelines. The participants in this study were 12 educators of Wangel Christian Elementary School, the Head of the Wangel Branch Assistant, 3 Branch Administrators of the P.P. Aru Klasis, 5 central administrators, as well as 1 supervisor and 1 YPPK coach who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that, YPPK has done its role well, it is evident from a number of programs that answer academic qualifications and four competencies but have not been realized holistically so that it needs to be improved again. There are two obstacles in improving the quality of educators, namely, financing and the management of the Wangel Branch Assistant that has not been formed.
