Meneropong Fenomena Eksklusi Sosial dalam Kasus Pembangunan Rumah Ibadah

This article aims to explain the case of the existence of the house of worship with the concept of social exclusion. This article uses literature study by taking secondary data and a case study of GKI Yasmin’s church’s construction in Bogor, West Java. This research reveals that there still happens social exclusion in a horizontal aspect, which is religion, in the process of GKI Yasmin’s church’s construction. On the one hand, the community of GKI Yasmin cannot actualise their rights to pray in their own house of worship comfortably and safely. On the other hand, they are also unable to participate in public life to voice their anxiety and worry regarding religious rights. It seems that the government does not stand firmly in defending the rights of GKI Yasmin’s people. Whereas the presence of the government is truly needed to give such a right intervention. Besides, we still need to enforce and promote the existence of non-governmental organisations that have passion for the issue of religion, such as Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB). As a part of civil society, FKUB must treat all religious groups equally and really listen to their aspirations, as well as be a firm bridge between civil society and government. By the movement of this organisation, hopefully religious rights could be practiced better day by day
