Tinjauan Teori Keadilan John Rawls Terhadap Peran GPIB Paulus Jakarta dalam Menyikapi Kemiskinan di Jakarta Pusat
Poverty is a social problem that still occurs and greatly affects all aspects of people's lives. Poverty causes social inequality, inequality, and injustice in society. The Special Capital Region (DKI) Jakarta as the capital city of Indonesia and the centre of all lines such as government and economy has a crucial poverty problem and is quite difficult to solve. Many efforts have been made by the government, various agencies, including the church to deal with the problem of poverty in DKI Jakarta. This research aims to analyse and understand how the role of the Gereja Protestan di Indonesia bagian Barat (GPIB) Paulus in addressing poverty in Central Jakarta is viewed based on John Rawls' theory of justice. John Rawls views that justice can be said to be justice when it sides with marginalised people. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with participants from the Pelkes Commission (Service and Witness) of GPIB Paulus Jakarta. The results of this study show that the role of GPIB Paulus Jakarta in addressing poverty in Central Jakarta is carried out through Pelkes programmes, especially in the form of Diakonia action. In terms of John Rawls' theory, the Diakonia action carried out by GPIB Paulus Jakarta is fairness justice towards the problem of poverty in Central Jakarta.
