Caesarean myomectomy: controversy, complications and clinical decisions
Myomectomy performed during caesarean section remains a subject of controversy due to the potential for associated complications, particularly with large myomas. Many obstetricians refrain from performing caesarean myomectomy because of concerns about the risk of uncontrollable hemorrhage. However, as the prevalence of pregnant women with myomas rises, the likelihood that physicians will encounter this issue is also increasing. Current guidelines encourage performing myomectomy during caesarean section in carefully selected cases, when conducted by experienced surgeons under appropriate conditions.
