Drone Technology for Detection and Solution for Pest Control in Agriculture – A Review
The agricultural sector is witnessing a technological revolution with the integration of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), or drones, into pest control mechanisms.Traditional pest detection and mitigation strategies often involve manual inspection and chemical application, which are timeconsuming, inefficient, and environmentally hazardous. This paper presents a drone-based system for real-time detection and precision treatment of pest-infested crops using multispectral imaging and targeted spraying.Field trials show a pest detection accuracy of 87% and a 40% reduction in pesticide usage. This innovation promises enhanced crop yields, reduced ecological footprint, and improved farmer livelihoods.
