A High-Speed Optical NAND/AND Logic Operation using a Twin Modulator in a Microring
This paper presents a novel microring modulator with twin PN depletion phase shifters, enabling simultaneous processing of two independent signals for NAND/AND logic operations with contrast ratios of 6 and 0.7 dB, respectively, and a speed of 10 Gb/s. The proposed architecture allows for a single-device universal logic implementation within a small footprint. The proposed device paves the way for high-speed, energy-efficient optical computing and realization of complex on-chip logical optical circuits.
