Opto-Mechanical Interaction in Air-Gap Coupled System
One of the primary challenges in integrating optical components with high stiffness into mechanical systems is the large footprint required to generate the forces necessary for manipulating light direction. In contrast, air-gap-coupled systems offer a more compact footprint compared to monolithic coupled systems. In this paper, we present a Multiphysics numerical simulation of an air-gap coupled system to evaluate the impact of air gaps on optical losses and also the effect of end tip of waveguide position.
