Performance Investigations of InAs/InP Quantum-Dot Coherent Comb Laser with Fiber Optics Using Photonic Wire Bonding
We investigate the performance of an InAs/InP quantum-dot coherent comb laser (QD CCL) directly bonded to a polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber using photonic wire bonding (PWB). The comb laser maintains a 24.92 GHz frequency spacing post-PWB, with a 2.2 dB insertion loss. Optical phase and intensity noise increase slightly but remain within acceptable limits. A 25 GBaud QPSK transmission achieves an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 19.765%, demonstrating PWB's potential for compact, low-loss photonic integration in broadband communication.
