Multimodal Nonlinear Optical Microscope with Femtosecond Excitation at 1 μm

Design and development of a multimodal nonlinear microscope is reported. The microscope used a compact diode-pumped femtosecond Yb:KGW laser as an excitation source. The laser operated around 1040 nm and produced <100 fs pulses. Second-, third-harmonic generation as well as two-photon excited fluorescence imaging was demonstrated.
