Endoscopic Approach to the Management of Malignant Nasal and Paranasal Sinus Tumors
The reported outcomes of endoscopic transnasal skull base surgery for malignant nasal and sinus tumors, including olfactory neuroblastoma, are comparable to those of craniotomy, which has led to their beginning to be covered by the national insurance program of Japan in April 2022. In 2024, endoscopic transnasal surgery for malignant sinonasal tumors (excluding skull base resection) was also included under insurance coverage, establishing it as a new modality for the treatment of nasal and sinus tumors in Japan.
